My areas of expertise are the Philosophy of Mind, the Philosophy of Action, the Philosophy of Psychiatry, and Applied Ethics. My current research focuses on addiction and other forms of agency under non-ideal conditions. I work on motivation, self-control, emotions, reasons-responsiveness, and their implications for autonomy, moral responsibility and other ethically relevant issues. I am co-director of the Santiago Mind and Cognition research group and lead investigator of the Fondecyt project “The Ambivalence of Behavioral Control in Addiction” (2025-2028).
